LSCPPA Youth Hauler Certification Program

Introduction

The Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Association Board of Directors has developed a Youth Hauler Certification Program for our annual swap meet. This program is new for 2024 and was created to allow haulers to be under the required age of 18 to operate a vehicle on our grounds. This program is made so youths ages 12-17 can be involved with the Pioneer Power Swap Meet and provide a valuable service to our guests and vendors. The Youth Hauler Certification Program provides safety training and will be required each year a Youth Hauler plans to participate.

Requirements

  1. Must be between the ages of 12 and 17.
  2. The Youth Hauler Sign-up Form must be filled out entirely and completed with a parent or guardian signature.
  3. Fill out a Waiver of Liability Form (required for anyone bringing a personal vehicle on the Pioneer Power Show Grounds). A $25 fee will be required for any personal vehicle allowed on the grounds by LSCPPA during the swap meet. This registration form also requires proof of insurance.
  4. Youth Haulers must provide their own equipment (lawn tractor with the mowing deck removed and a trailer not wider than the tractor).
  5. Youth Haulers will be required to complete a short orientation & training session along with a skills test while on their own equipment. There will also be an equipment safety inspection conducted on site during orientation & training.

Orientation & Training

An Orientation & Training session along with an equipment inspection will be held on the Pioneer Power Show Grounds on Saturday, April 20th from 11am – 1pm. The Youth Hauler Sign-up Form and Waiver of Liability Form can be downloaded from the website under the Youth Hauler Certification Program on the Swap Meet information page. Bring your completed registration forms with you or complete them at the time of the training session.
