Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Miniatureland and Pioneer Power Railroad
The Miniature Land building is located in Gas Engine Grove and is a favorite spot for show go’ers. People with the special talent of crafting and building scale model tractors, engines, trains, and machinery, display and operate their scale models. Miniature Land attracts exhibitors from all over the U.S. The father-son team of John Barklow and John Barklow Jr. were the drive behind getting the Miniature Land going at Pioneer Power. Miniature Land is a tribute to John Barklow Sr., which is carried on by his son John Jr.

Pioneer Power Railroad

In 1995 John Barklow, Mike Bluhm and their crew began construction of a railroad. Not just any railroad, but a 7 1/2 gauge rail, that means that the rails are spaced 7 1/2 inches apart. Now 2800 feet of track run through the scenic woods next to the nature trail. Steam as well as electric locomotives can be seen on display and running on the track. The railroad is an attraction for both children and adults. An engine unloading facility has been added along with a water tower.

A new 40×60 ft. railroad building was up and running by show time 2005. The new building will be used for storage, engine maintanence, and a railroad memorbilia display area.
