2018 Show Report

The late winter of 2017/18 turned out to be the snowiest part of the winter. Late March and thru mid April we were blessed with several heavy, wet snowfalls. On April 14th, just two weeks till the swap meet we received nearly 10 inches of heavy wet snow and 40 to 50 mph winds. Snow was drifted into 3 - 4 foot drifts in most areas and the showgrounds was no exception. It looked doubtful whether we would be able to pull the swap meet off. A decision was made to go ahead and have the swap meet. A group of several tractor/loaders and skid steers attacked the showgrounds to remove as much snow as possible. Work continued for several days with warmer temps prevailing. After the snow was mostly moved or spread out over the showgrounds several tractors hooked to spike tooth drags kept dragging the snow apart until only mush was left. Then the warmer temps came, the snow was gone and we ended up with one of the best swap meets we have had in many years. Thanks to all the vendors who waited till the last minute to come into the grounds, that way the grounds were able to dry out as much as possible.

The Board of Directors would like to thank every one for attending!
