For the seventh year, the sounds and sights of antique and classic tractors will fill the Minnesota River Valley on Saturday, June 28. The Fifth Annual Henderson Tractor Ride will again leave the Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Showgrounds, located 6 miles east of Le Sueur, at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday June 23. Old tractors of many makes, models and colors will travel through St. Thomas, Union Hill, Belle Plaine, Blakeley, and Jessenland on their way to historic Henderson where the caravan will parade down Main Street and end up in Bender Park, just in time to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the Annual Sauerkraut Days Celebration.
Last year over 50 tractors participated in the popular ride, and Tractor Ride Chairman Tom Graham expects at least 50 riders to enjoy this years’ event. Antique tractor enthusiasts from throughout Southern Minnesota enjoyed participating in the annual event as drivers or spectators. Many people set up lawn chairs along the route and enjoyed the slow steady caravan of old machines, many of which are restored to like new condition.
Chairman Graham states that applications are coming in every day and encourages anyone wishing to ride in the 2008 Tractor Ride to contact him at 507-248-3515, or grahampr@frontiernet.net
